Things to note:

All Kenyans who attain the age of 18 years are eligible to issuance of Identity Cards

Persons who have acquired Kenyan citizenship by registration are also entitled to issuance of identity cards

Kenyans with Dual/Multiple citizenships are required to declare, click here for more information

Persons who have lost Kenyan citizenship are required to apply and regain before applying for any Kenyan documents. Click here for more information.

In line with the UK Government guidelines, everyone coming to the Mission must wear a mask and note that social distancing rules will be enforced.

Kenyans with 1st generation Identity Cards are required to apply for 2nd generation Identity Cards

Collection of IDs is strictly only via postal services.

As a measure in support of the containment of the spread of Covid-19, applicants are advised to provide at the time of application, a secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with pre-paid postage stamps for the dispatch of their critical documents. The envelope should have sufficient return postage and clearly indicates full names and postcode of the applicant.

Two passport size photographs.

Copy of UK residence permit/visa

A secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with pre-paid postage stamps for the dispatch of their critical documents. The envelope should have sufficient return postage (not less than 500g) and clearly indicates full names and postcode of the applicant.
Notes for Dual Citizens
Declaration of Dual Citizenship is required of Kenyans who:

Acquired citizenship of another country after 27th August, 2010

Are dual citizens but were 23 years and below on 27th August, 2010

Those who have regained Kenya Citizenship
